THE BORING BITS

RUNNING LATE

As a service provider our aim is to run to schedule. We understand that life can sometimes throw you a curve ball and both clients or our team can run late. For this reason, on all cut appointments, we offer our clients a 20 minute cut off period from the scheduled booking time before having to re-schedule. If you’ve booked a colour appointment, the policy is a little more complicated and essentially depends on what our operators can do in the time remaining when you arrive. Having said that, for any 30 minute colour appointments we can only give you 15 minutes grace before we need to re-schedule your booking.

So if you are running late, please call reception on (03)9820 9130 to let them know and to see what can be done.

CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS

We understand that life can be super hectic. We’re living it too. Unfortunately, late cancellations and no-shows have a very real impact on our business. To reduce the likelihood of this happening, all on-line bookings will be required to secure their appointment by paying a booking fee of 50% of the full price of the services booked. All new clients booking via reception, will also be required to pay a booking fee of 50% of the full price of the services booked via the link sent, within 2 hours of them requesting the appointment to secure the booking.

If you reschedule or cancel your appointment giving more than 24 hours notice, the funds will be transferred across to any future booking or a refund can be arranged if you do not wish to re-book.

Please note that cancelling or rescheduling your appointment within 24 hours of your appointment, not attending or arriving too late for your appointment (see above), makes it hard for us to fill the slot and you will forfeit your booking fee.

You will receive SMS and email notifications of your appointment at the time of booking and in the lead up to your appointment giving you the opportunity to change your booking should you need to, so please be sure to keep your contact information up to date.

Our team dedicate their expertise and attention specifically to look after you. We ask that you understand and respect the commitment that you make when booking with us.

COMPLIMENTARY FRINGE TRIMS

To help extend the life of your haircut shibui offers a complimentary fringe trim service as long as it is within 8 weeks of your last shibui haircut service. Bookings are only available at certain times and with certain cutters. We do not offer fringe trims as a paid service if a client falls outside of the above conditions.

COMPLIMENTARY NECK TRIMS

Bookings are only available at certain times and with certain cutters. We do not offer neck trims as a paid service if a client falls outside of the above conditions.

DRESSED HAIR (UP DO)

shibui hair ‘dressers’ prefer to commence the service with the hair in a clean, dry state, leaving ample time for prepping and styling. We ask that you arrive with your hair freshly washed that morning or the day prior. If this is inconvenient, or you enjoy the shampoo aspect of a visit, please request that time is allocated for a complementary shampoo prior to your hair ‘dressing’ appointment.

Please note that Bridal party booking (2 clients or more) require a 50% deposit upon booking confirmation.

COMPLIMENTARY ADJUSTMENT SERVICES

shibui offers complimentary adjustment services within the first week or two after your service. Simply telephone the salon and explain to one of our reception team what the issue is and they will assess whether it falls under our adjustment policy and then arrange an appointment time for any adjustments that may be required.

SHIBUI SUSTAINABILITY

We really want to do our bit to work as sustainably as we can so we’ve initiated a few things to help us along the way on our sustainability journey

We Are A Sustainable Salon

In 2017 we partnered up with Sustainable Salons Australia. This resource recovery program is designed for the salon to achieve zero waste, reduce its carbon footprint, and implement sustainable work practices that benefit the local community.

So what are some of the programs your
visit will be contributing to?

» Your cut off hair will support charitable causes such as oil spill clean up projects, local community gardens and charitable wig making services.

» All the proceeds gained from recycling the salons metals such as foils, colour tubes, cans etc. will be donated to not-for-profit community based organisations that do a killer job helping humanity every day.

» Any left over hair colour will be recycled into new liquids.

» Once our tools (used to style your beautiful mane) reach their end of life they will be broken down and all valuable parts will be repurposed.

What does this mean for you?

Each time you visit our Sustainable Salon your service bill will include a small Green Fee of just $3.00 that will support the salon to keep its commitment to sustainability without compromising the quality service we offer you.

For more information, please visit www.sustainablesalons.com.au or ask us during your next visit.

Sustainable Super

In early 2020 we chose to swap our default superannuation provider to Australian Ethical and encouraged all of our team to switch to an ethical super fund australianethical.com.au

Carbon Neutral Energy

shibui has ‘opted in’ to a carbon neutral program through our energy provider which means any carbon we produce through the day-to-day workings of our salon is offset by investing in initiatives that prevent, reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere
